I'm taking on the Crunches Challenge this July for Dementia Australia
Currently, it is estimated that more than 433,300 Australians are living with dementia. My mum is one of them and it is an extremely difficult journey for us all. Seeing her life slowly slipping away from her and watching her slowly lose her sparkle is simply heartbreaking. I wouldn't wish 'The long goodbye' on anyone and I certainly don't want my children to have to endure this painful journey either. Our future is unknown but we can certainly live in the present and act now to do what we can to prevent this treacherous journey for others.
So crunches it is!
Without a medical breakthrough, the number of people with dementia is expected to increase to more than 812,500 by 2058.
