The Challenge
What is the best way to complete my crunches?
The choice is all yours! We designed this challenge to be flexible, so you're welcome to chose the crunch style that best suit your fitness level. The most important thing is that you're moving and making a difference!
Do I need to complete my daily crunches all in one go?
This challenge is all about what works best for you! If you prefer to cover the entire total of crunches in one continuous stretch, go for it! Alternatively, you're welcome to divide the series into smaller segments—perhaps some in the morning and some in the evening. The key is to complete the daily crunches in a way that fits into your lifestyle.
Must I complete the crunches every single day?
While the challenge is designed to encourage you to complete crunches daily, we understand life happens. If you miss a day, you're welcome to make up for it by adding a few more reps the following day. The goal is to make the challenge work for you while staying committed to the cause.
How can I accurately track my exercise during the challenge?
In your welcome pack, you'll find an activity tracking calendar that tells you how many crunches each day to complete and for you mark off each day. For added convenience, consider using a fitness watch if you have one, as it's a great way to automatically keep track of your reps.
Alternatively, there are several smartphone apps available that can help you monitor your exercise. While these apps are not officially endorsed by Dementia Australia, they can be a useful tool. Remember, the best tracking method is the one that keeps you motivated and accountable throughout your journey!

What if someone wants to sponsor me with cash or a cheque?

In such cases, you can contact us or make a direct donation via our donate page. This ensures all funds are accounted for and go directly towards supporting Dementia Australia.
Does Dementia Australia pay any fees to Facebook?
Yes. As of 1 November 2023, Meta no longer covers donation payment processing fees for donations to support nonprofits in Australia. These donations will now incur a payment processing fee from a third-party payment processing partner. Donors will have the option to increase their donations to cover fees.
When a donor makes a donation in Australian dollars (AUD) the payment processing fee is 1.1% + $0.30 AUD..
How are the funds processed?
When you or anyone in your network makes a donation, the transaction is securely handled by Facebook Pay. Meta (formerly known as Facebook) then transfers the funds directly to Dementia Australia's PayPal Giving Fund (PPGF) account. This process not only simplifies international transactions but also adds an extra layer of security to protect your generous contributions. For more information on how Facebook utilise PayPal, you can read more here.
