In Memory of My Oma— Raising Funds for Dementia Research

Dementia is more than memory loss — it slowly takes away the people we love. I witnessed this firsthand when my Oma battled dementia. Watching someone who once filled every room with warmth, stories, and laughter gradually lose parts of herself was heartbreaking for our entire family.

My Oma was kind, strong, and deeply loved. Even during her hardest days, there were moments where her smile and spirit still shone through, reminding us of the incredible person she was. Losing her changed me forever.

I’m now raising funds to support dementia research, care, and support services so that other families may one day face less pain, confusion, and loss. Every donation helps contribute to better treatment, greater awareness, and hope for a future without dementia.

This fundraiser is in honour of my Oma and for everyone affected by this devastating disease.
