From elite athlete to forgetting his own name, it has been 2 years since my beloved Grandad passed away from Alzheimer’s disease.
Dementia is one of the cruellest cognitive diseases that affects so many people. Sadly, there is no current cure.
I am wanting to raise donations for Dementia Australia, a cause close to my heart, and would appreciate your support as I complete the Crunches Challenge this July (2,500 crunches 1-31 July 2025) .
Currently, it is estimated that more than 433,300 Australians are living with dementia. Without a medical breakthrough, the number of people with dementia is expected to increase to more than 812,500 by 2058.
Your contribution will make a world of difference for people impacted by dementia, every donation big or small counts!

Sara, my mother-in-law, passed away very slowly with Dementia. My brother-in-law died with motor neurone disease and dementia. Bella is doing Sudoku to keep her mind alert - get the blood and electricity running to the brain. Bella threatens me every day as she fails to wear her night breathing machine. So, Dementia is one of those cruel diseases that progresses in the body as the inflammatory fats (omega-6) weaken the blood vessels, which in turn weaken the muscles, reducing the supply of oxygenated blood to our organs and brain.
