Crunches Challenge 2026

I'm taking on the Crunches Challenge this June for Dementia Australia

Currently, it is estimated that more than 446,500 Australians are living with dementia. Without a significant intervention, the number of Australians living with dementia is expected to increase to more than 1 million by 2065.

Your contribution will make a world of difference for people impacted by dementia, every donation big or small counts!

Thank you so much for your support.

Every Memory Matters

Wednesday 27th May

There is a moment many families remember forever — the first time a loved one forgets a name, loses their way home, or struggles to recognise a familiar face. Dementia does not only affect memory; it changes daily life, relationships, confidence, and independence for millions of people around the world.

Today, I am asking for your help to bring hope, dignity, and support to people living with dementia and the families who care for them.

Understanding Dementia

Dementia is not a normal part of ageing. It is a condition that affects memory, thinking, communication, and behaviour. For those living with dementia, everyday tasks can become overwhelming. Simple conversations, familiar routines, and treasured memories may slowly fade.

Behind every diagnosis is a person:

  • A grandparent who once told bedtime stories
  • A parent who worked hard to provide for their family
  • A friend who still deserves connection, compassion, and care

No one should face dementia alone.

Why Your Support Matters

Families caring for someone with dementia often experience emotional, physical, and financial stress. Many carers dedicate countless hours to supporting loved ones while balancing work, parenting, and their own wellbeing.

Funds raised can help provide:

  • Memory support programs
  • Respite care for families and carers
  • Community activities and social connection
  • Educational resources and counselling
  • Research into better treatments and future prevention

Even a small donation can make a meaningful difference.

The Power of Compassion

People living with dementia still experience joy, love, humour, and connection. A smile, a conversation, music, or simply holding someone’s hand can brighten their day.

By supporting dementia care and awareness, we create communities where people are treated with patience, understanding, and dignity.

How You Can Help

You can make a difference today by:

  • Donating to dementia support initiatives
  • Sharing this message with friends and family
  • Volunteering in your local community
  • Raising awareness about dementia and mental health

Together, we can remind people living with dementia that they are valued, respected, and never forgotten.

Donate Today

Every contribution helps provide care, comfort, and hope for people living with dementia and the families walking this journey beside them.

Because every memory matters. And every person matters even more.
