My target 42 kms

I'm taking on a Marathon to Remember and making a difference for people living with dementia!

I’m challenging myself to complete a Marathon to raise funds to support people with dementia. I wanted motivation to increase my fitness and what better way than challenging myself to run (okay jog) 42ks in the month of October.

My dad was diagnosed with an agressive form of Alzhimers and died 9 years ago, although we lost the dad we knew before that day.

It isn't described as a long goodbye for nothing.

Funds raised go to medical and social research and support the vital services, support groups and education programs that Dementia Australia provides to people living with dementia, their families and carers.

Thank you for your support

My Updates

Half way and already kicking goals

Saturday 17th Oct
In October I commited to running a marathon (Not in one go) ...but my personal goal was to be running 5ks without stopping by 31 October.

I haven't run in months and have not been a consistent runner for many years.
I wanted to use this opportunity to get running fit , and raise awarness and funds for Dementia Australia.

For those that don't know my dad was diagnosed with an agressive form of early onset Alzhimers and passed away from the cruel disease in 2011.

So far I have run 25ks...and today not only was it a half way milestone but I ran 5 ks without stopping....a whole 2 weeks ahead of schedule. I know for many this isn't a big deal but for me it is! I know my dad would have been proud...cos he was proud of everything that I did...he was my biggest number 1 fan!

Cheer me on from the comfort of your couch...and feel free to throw a $ or $$ to the great cause.

Thank you for your gift
