I'm taking on the 5km a Day Your Way challenge for Dementia Australia this November/December.

I'm walking in memory of Dad who died from complications of dementia in December 2021, after a long and cruel illness.

Currently, it is estimated that more than 421,000 Australians are living with dementia. Without a medical breakthrough, the number of people with dementia is expected to increase to more than 812,500 by 2058.

Your contribution will make a world of difference for people impacted by dementia, every donation big or small counts!

Thank you so much for your support.

My Updates

Will you sponsor me?

Friday 29th Nov
I've been quiet lately, hampered by the after effects of concussion and a rotator cuff injury.
They've slowed me down significantly, so I will continue on into December to make up my down days and walk all my kms - if not more. πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ˜€

Did you know that dementia accounted for 9.1% of all deaths in Australia in 2023?
That's thousands of loved ones lost every year.

It's still not too late to sponsor me and donate to Dementia Australia.

Every dollar raised funds vital services including:

πŸ“ž 24/7 National Dementia Helpline
πŸ“š Living with Memory Loss programs
🚐 Educational outreach programs
πŸ”¬ Dementia research

Although I'm walking in memory of my Dad, dementia is actually the leading cause of death for women and the second leading cause of death overall. It will likely soon become the first. Currently, over 421,000 Australians are impacted by dementia.
