The Challenge
What is the best way to complete my 5km each day?
The choice is all yours! We designed this challenge to be flexible, so you're welcome to walk, run, ride, swim, roll, row (or anything or activity you want) your way through the 5km. The most important thing is that you're moving and making a difference!
Do I need to complete the 5km all in one go?
This challenge is all about what works best for you! If you prefer to cover the entire 5km in one continuous stretch, go for it! Alternatively, you're welcome to divide the distance into smaller segments—perhaps some in the morning and some in the evening. The key is to complete the daily 5km in a way that fits into your lifestyle.
Must I complete 5km every single day?
While the challenge is designed to encourage you to complete 5km daily, we understand life happens. If you miss a day, you're welcome to make up for it by adding a few more km's the following day. The goal is to make the challenge work for you while staying committed to the cause.
How can I accurately track my exercise during the challenge?
In your welcome pack, you'll find an activity tracking calendar to help you mark off each day you complete 5km. For added convenience, consider using a fitness watch if you have one, as it's a great way to automatically keep track of your k's.
Alternatively, there are several smartphone apps available that can help you monitor your exercise. While these apps are not officially endorsed by Dementia Australia, they can be a useful tool. Remember, the best tracking method is the one that keeps you motivated and accountable throughout your journey!
