Wednesday 13th MayHello friends and family!!
As my nearest and dearest already know, my pop was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease two years ago. Alzheimer’s is a progressive, neurodegenerative brain disorder, a type of dementia affecting memory, thinking, and behaviour.Â
It is estimated that more than 446,500 Australians are currently living with dementia, and approximately 1.7 million people involved with the caring of an individual with dementia. Without a significant intervention, the number of Australians living with dementia is expected to increase to more than 1 million by 2065.Â
This June, I will be taking on the Crunches Challenge for Dementia Australia to raise vital funds and awareness for this organisation. I will be given a crunch target to achieve each day throughout June, totalling 2,500 crunches.Â
