Currently, it is estimated that more than 446,500 Australians are living with dementia. Without a significant intervention, the number of Australians living with dementia is expected to increase to more than 1 million by 2065.

It’s quite simple but complicated at the same time as both my parents unfortunately are dealing with early onset Alzheimer’s and dementia. These last couple of years have been a complete learning curve for all of us and in especially learning how to better make their lives more comfortable and praying also for further research and hopefully for a cure someday. As the only carer for both of them my days can be quite full and overwhelmed but I wouldn’t have any other way. It is a blessing to be able to look after them and to make their lives comfortable to the best of my ability.
