I'm taking on the 5km a Day Your Way challenge for Dementia Australia this November, in honour of my Nanny Barb.

I am moving this November for dementia. Today is day 9 of walking 5km a day for 30 days. I’m doing this in honour of our Nanny Barb.

As of 2024 it’s estimated over 421,000 Australians suffer from dementia and as a result, 1.6 million Australians are involved in the care of someone living with dementia. It takes patience and understanding - it’s tough!

Albeit the option is there, times are tough so I’m not asking for donations. I believe awareness is just as important. Instead, I encourage you to have a read of this website to expand your knowledge.

I have her on my mind whilst trotting along each day but to be honest, this is harder than I thought it was going to be! So, instead of donations I’m asking for your encouragement and support. On the bottom of my fundraising page in the gallery section you can track my progress to keep me accountable or better yet, join me for some kms! Everyone loved Nanny Barb, so let’s get involved!

Upon completion, I’ll be donating $1 for each km I walk - therefore, I need your ongoing encouragement (the feet are already tired 🫠)!
