Currently, it is estimated that more than 446,500 Australians are living with dementia. Without a significant intervention, the number of Australians living with dementia is expected to increase to more than 1 million by 2065.

Why I’m doing this.
Monday 1st Jun My mum has early onset dementia and is in a care facility at the age of 69. She has battled this disease alongside my dad for about 7 years.Slowly we watched our mum forget simple things, but it was actually really quick! From someone who was so independent and strong, going to needing help remembering to eat is so sad for us all. Especially dad. His life partner of 50 years is fading away, barely holding a conversation.
We are grateful for the care she receives now, although we wish it was different, I am doing a small gesture to help raise awareness and hopefully some money to fight this horrible disease.
If you are able, please donate, or do some crunches with me to help the cause. Maybe someone else can avoid this heartache.
