Why I’m doing the crunches challenge

Sunday 14th Jun On the 1st June 2024, my dad passed away in a nursing home after being completely bed bound for several years. He had been diagnosed with early onset dementia nearly 15 years earlier. In that 15 years he had slowly lost his memory of his loved ones, his ability to speak, his ability to write, and his ability to sing and play music which was his passion. He lost his dignity and everything he once was - and we lost the chance to truly remember him for who he was before he became sick. By the time he passed it was a blessing to finally see him free of his body that had been holding on for so long after his mind had gone. I’m doing this challenge to help spread awareness of the awful disease, in the hopes that one day there will be a cure, prevention or a kinder quality of life - and death - for those affected.  Share
