Crunches Challenge 2026

I'm taking on the Crunches Challenge this June for Dementia Australia

Currently, it is estimated that more than 446,500 Australians are living with dementia. Without a significant intervention, the number of Australians living with dementia is expected to increase to more than 1 million by 2065.

Your contribution will make a world of difference for people impacted by dementia, every donation big or small counts!

Thank you so much for your support.

Let's do this !

Monday 1st Jun
Alright, Day 1. Forty crunches for dementia. I'm doing this because dementia has had a real impact on people I love, and I know so many other families are walking a similar path. Every donation, share and conversation helps, so thank you for being here. Let's do it.

Tomorrow it begins .....

Sunday 31st May

For the entire month of June, I'll be taking on my dementia fundraising challenge, one crunch at a time, to help raise awareness and support for a disease that affects so many individuals and families.

Before I've even completed a single crunch, I've already received a donation, and honestly, that means more than I can put into words. Thank you. Your support reminds me that this challenge is about something much bigger than exercise.
Dementia slowly steals memories, independence and connection, not only from the person living with it, but from the people who love them too.
This challenge is personal. It's for my Grandpa, and for every family walking this road.
Tomorrow I start. The crunches might be counted one by one, but the reason behind them is immeasurable.
Here's to 30 days of showing up, staying accountable, raising awareness and hopefully making a small difference along the way.  Neeta xx

Before I start ... I would like to share some information...

Thursday 21st May
Today I’m sharing the first post for my dementia fundraising challenge, and it’s one that comes straight from the heart.
Dementia is more than memory loss. It’s a disease that slowly changes a person’s ability to think, communicate, remember and navigate everyday life. In Australia, it’s the second leading cause of death overall and the leading cause of death for women.
But statistics never truly capture the reality of what dementia does. It ripples through entire families. It changes relationships, routines, emotions and the way loved ones connect with each other. You don’t just watch someone forget things, you watch pieces of the person you love slowly fade, while still trying to hold onto every moment you can.
Personally, dementia has affected me deeply. Seeing someone you love go through it is heartbreaking in ways that are hard to explain unless you’ve lived it. It brings grief, helplessness, love, exhaustion and treasured moments all at once.
This challenge is for awareness, for support, for families carrying this weight quietly, and for the people living with dementia themselves. Every step I take is for them 🤍
