Crunches Challenge 2025

I'm taking on the Crunches Challenge this July for Dementia Australia

At the age of 52, when I was 18, my mother was diagnosed with Younger Onset Dementia. This was one of the most confronting experiences of my life.

At the time I was sat in a room with my sisters (then 21 and 24) and told the support and options we had to look at for our mum. Back then there was little to no support for younger onset dementia patients and their families.

This July I am looking to raise awareness of this horrible disease that stole my mum from me and hope to raise support for those in the future that find themselves in a similar situation and be offered the support they need.

Currently, it is estimated that more than 433,300 Australians are living with dementia. Without a medical breakthrough, the number of people with dementia is expected to increase to more than 812,500 by 2058.

Your contribution will make a world of difference for people impacted by dementia, every donation big or small counts!

Thank you so much for your support.
