I'm taking on the 5km a Day Challenge for Dementia Australia this November.
As you would know, this is a cause very close to my heart.
My Father suffered from Alzheimer’s for 8 years and truly suffering the last 3-4 years of his life, completely stealing away the man he was. I know many others who have also lost loved ones to this awful disease.
It is the 2nd leading cause of death in Australia!
With the month on November marking the 3rd year of losing dad, and wanting to continually help raise money and awareness for this awful disease and Dementia Australia.
I will be committing to running 5km every day throughout November during their 5km a Day Fundraiser.
I’ll share my daily runs, stories & memories and hopefully facts that I've learned about dementia along the way.
Together, we can make a real difference and raise awareness, funds, and hope for those affected by dementia.
All funds raised will support the work of Dementia Australia to provide vital support services for people living with dementia, their families and carers. These services include counselling, support groups, education and training.
