Team Ivan - Every Step, Every Memory

We're raising funds for people with dementia!

We're moving for Ivan. We're making memories. We're moving with hope.

Our family has recently begun a journey we never imagined we'd be taking. Our much-loved Dad, Grandad and husband, Ivan, has been diagnosed with dementia.

While this diagnosis brings uncertainty about what lies ahead, it has also reminded us of something incredibly important — just how precious family, love, laughter and the memories we make together truly are.

And that's why we're getting moving!

Throughout November, our family will be taking on the 5km a Day Challenge – Our Way! Whether we choose to walk, run, swim or ride a pushbike, we'll each be completing 5 kilometres every day to raise funds for Dementia Australia, support vital dementia research and bring hope to families just like ours.

Different ways to move. One family. One purpose. One very special reason.

We're doing this for Dad — for the stories he's told, the laughter we've shared, the lessons he's taught us and the wonderful memories we've created together.

But we're also doing it for all the moments still to come. The conversations, the smiles, the family gatherings and the little everyday joys that mean so much.

Dementia may be part of our family's story now, but it certainly doesn't define Dad or the love that surrounds him.

We can't change his diagnosis, but we can make a difference. We can raise awareness, support research, celebrate the good moments and face the future together with positivity, determination and hope.

Because every kilometre matters. Every memory is precious. And every little bit of hope makes a difference.
