I am raising funds for Dementia Australia in memory of my loved one.
Carolyn Clio Manifold
19 October 1937 – 04 April 2024
It is with a great sadness that Carolyn's children and grandchildren share the sad news of the passing of our Mum and Grandma.
Mum passed peacefully on the afternoon of 4 April 2024 in familiar surroundings in Perth. Sue and Stuart had the privilege of being present and making certain Mum knew she was not alone.
This was the end of a long battle with the truly horrible disease Alzheimer’s, well fought, with dignity and determination, and now everlasting peace following a life of guidance and encouragement to anyone who needed her help.
The entire family, Sue, Cameron, Heather, Nerinda, Shannon, Stuart and the grandchildren, Liam, Ben, Lachlan, Caleb, Georgia, Riley, Alex and Angus would like to thank you all for the support and kindness that we have received. Please know that our thoughts are also with you all.
Banksy once said: “You die twice. One time when you stop breathing and a second time, a bit later on, when somebody says your name for the last time”.
We have all tried to find a way to keep Carolyn in our thoughts, hearts and conversations. In line with this the family has given great consideration to the many requests we have received asking about Mum's preferred charity. After discussion we have agreed that we would like, if you are able, and instead of flowers, to make a donation to Dementia Australia allowing them to continue their great and compassionate work in supporting families affected and researching cures for these horrible diseases that steal our loved ones and their precious memories long before they actually leave us.
We would like to share with you all a writing, received from a friend which encapsulates the sadness and peace we are all feeling.
God looked around his Garden and found an empty place.
He then
looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face.
He put his arms
around you and lifted you to rest.
His Garden must be beautiful, he
always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain.
And knew
that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw your path was
difficult, he closed your tired eyes,
He whispered to you “Peace be
Thine” and gave you wings to fly.
When we saw you sleeping so calm and free of pain,
We would not wish
you back to earth to suffer once again.
You’ve left us precious
memories, your love will be our guide,
You live on through your
children, you’re always by our side.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you on the day God called you home.
Love you TEN Mum.
