My target 5 kms

I’m raising funds for people with dementia!

This November I’m taking part in the 5km A Day Your Way challenge with Dementia Australia.

Each day in November I’ll be completing 5km a day, however I wish.

Every kilometre I complete, and dollar raised, helps support the 446,500 Australians living with dementia and the 1.7 million who care for them.

Day 4

Thursday 5th Nov
Not gonna lie, weekdays are tough. Especially when working and the fact that we have an activity or multiple, every night during the week.

Poor planning again, I had 5km to do in one hit, after work and summer soccer.

Thought I would do the treadmill at the gym but no one was there when I got there and I don’t know where my key is, as I never use it, given I only attend the gym for scheduled training sessions pretty much. The area Group training run, outside the gym, was pretty well lit, so I decided to do the just over 19 laps to reach my target. I was pretty freaked out at times, but I did it.

Thought of you mum. Hoping this helps other sufferers and their families in the future.

PS: thank god for what looks like a newly installed park bench, for the 5 breaks I had.

Day 3

Thursday 5th Nov
Mum inspired connection. Although we call on birthdays and other major events, we hadn’t caught up in a long while.

Thanks for calling yesterday Michelle Galea and wanting to help me with the walking challenge and for your generous donation.

It was meant to be, as I never take a day off when it isn’t school holidays and did this day.

I thoroughly enjoyed catching up and our lunch together.

Day 2

Thursday 5th Nov
Definitely did not plan it well, for a work day. Did 1km early in the morning before work and then didn’t stop working until just before All Souls Day mass, which left me to do 4kms in one go.

Thank god Levi wanted to do it with me, as he didn’t want me walking alone in the dark, so the adventure started.

From OLQP church to KFC. Stopped for dinner. Then down and around the Hungry Jacks to Miss Sweeties for dessert. Then from there up and around and back to the church.

Thank god for my kids I got through Day 2…

Day 1

Thursday 5th Nov
A early morning walk and couple of night walks. Thanks for the walk tonight Teddy Millie Torres…
