In memory of George Kopelis

I am raising funds for Dementia Australia in memory of my loved one.

The last few years of George's life were challenging, both for himself and for his family, as dementia slowly stripped him of his independence. But no matter how much trouble he eventually had in walking, expressing himself and otherwise managing day-to-day life, he never lost love for his family and his character died with him, in tact.

If you have a family member or a friend with dementia, we ask that you not focus on what that person is losing or no longer able to do, but rather to think about what they still have and still can do, and use these things to create moments of joy. One day, that person will be gone from this world and these moments will be all that remain. We are so proud and thankful that George and those who knew him continued to create such moments right until the very end, spoiling us with many memories to cherish forever.

All donations received will support the work of Dementia Australia to make a significant difference for people living with dementia, their families and carers through vital support, services, education, training and research.
