Dementia is a really hard disease because it slowly takes away people’s memories and their independence. It doesn’t just affect one person — it impacts whole families.

I’m fundraising because I want to help make a difference, even in a small way, for the people going through this and the people who care about them. I also hope that, one day, we can find a cure.

As I learn more about it, I worry about my grandparents, because the risk gets higher as people get older. I just want to do something that might help them, and other people like them, not have to go through this.
