I'm raising funds for people with dementia!

Let’s get together and raise funds and awareness for people with dementia!

More and more people are being touched by dementia. Our family have seen the struggle, embarrassment, pain and heartbreak dementia causes the sufferer. My incredible Mum, Fay Tully, has been fighting this disease for years and in my heart of hearts, I know there is a reason, a ‘why’. 

It’s not just much needed funds that my family hope to raise, it’s also awareness. 

Mum felt isolated and embarrassed as her memory, as we knew it, faded. She craved understanding, support and someone to talk to. It can be confronting to talk to someone with dementia if you haven’t before but, please, bare with them. Chat back, make conversation, even if the response you receive is incomprehensible to you. 

Sufferers are still the same person you once knew… They’re just trying to get things straight in their mind. Help them, love them, talk with them and support them.

All funds raised will support the work of Dementia Australia to provide vital support services for people living with dementia, their families and carers. These services include counselling, support groups, education and training.
