Alison, Jane’s Nightingale Nurse travelled regularly from Adelaide to Jane’s family farm in Back Valley on the Fleurieu Peninsula, South Australia.
Receiving regular dementia-specific in person and phone support from the Nightingale Nurses filled a huge gap in care that would have otherwise been present had this service not been available.
Alison guided Jane’s family step by step through the devastating disease that is Younger Onset Dementia. She held the family's hand from diagnosis until the very end. As Jane was cared for by immediate family in her home for 7+ years this service was invaluable.
Jane passed away peacefully at home with family by her side. Her family will be forever grateful to Alison and the Nightingale Program for teaching them the skills they needed to keep their much loved and beautiful Janey at home.
All donations received will support Dementia Australia's Nightingale Program in South Australia.
