For Brad
Thursday 15th Aug
My husband Brad was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia 5 years ago.
Brad is a Civil Engineer who was part of a team working on Essendon Airport and later Tullamarine before his appointment as Resident Engineer in Tasmania overseeing major works in the state.
On his return to Victoria he was asked to lead an expedition to Antarctica to determine the feasibility of compacting snow for an air strip at Mawson.
Some of his accomplishments include Project Director of Australian Securities Commission, the Australian Quarantine Facility and the refurbishment of the Australia Post Building. Fast forward to today where he is unable to communicate, sit up, dress or feed himself.
Dementia is an insidious disease and can strike anyone at any age. Share
