Elsie's Christmas Tree

Welcome to Our Christmas Wish!

This Christmas Tree is for Elsie and all of the family and friends near and far who live with dementia. 

My grandmother Elsie loved sparkles and had an amazing white ceramic Christmas Tree with flashing lights. I remember it clearly! She loved Christmas and while she lived to a good age of 95, she also lived with dementia for many years before her death. Dementia took away many of her memories and ultimately, took her life. It was devastating to bear witness to the last few years but it doesn't define her life or her legacy. Elsie was a strong, charismatic woman capable of incredible compassion in her role as nurse, matron, business entrepreneur, mother and grandmother. She is very much missed and never forgotten. 

Please help me decorate this virtual Christmas tree in honour of Elsie and anyone in your life who lives or lived with dementia.
