Patricks run for Dementia
Sunday 1st SepHi my name is Patrick, I own and run Cut Above Construction which is a small construction company based on the Mornington Peninsula.
On the 21st of December 2024 I am going to run 130kms around the Peninsula to raise money for Dementia Australia.
This cause means an awful lot to me as the man I have grown up admiring, learning from and being mentored by, has been diagnosed with a type of dementia called Aphasia, which causes difficulty with words and names.
Ian was a teacher for over 40 years so considering how proficient he was as a speaker and writer, this diagnosis came as a big shock. Aphasia causes the buildup of a plaque like substance called TAU which stops messages getting through the neurons.
Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done medically to assist Ian. This is why we have chosen to put all money raised towards Dementia research in hope that we can get closer to finding a cure.
Cut Above Construction will be donating $200 from every job completed from the 1st of September up until the 21st of December.
