Customising your sandwiches and help people with dementia!

Youth Charity Society (YCS) is a student-run club at the University of Melbourne. We connect students with meaningful volunteering opportunities. Within the Internal Volunteering (IV) Team, we oversee the volunteering events that support non-profit organisations through fundraising and creative contributions.

IV team plants to host an event "Stacked with Memories" on 16 April 2026, where volunteers can donate $5 to make a sandwich for themselves with provided ingredients. You can include whatever ingredients available, making it your personalised sandwich with a limit of 2 bread per 1 sandwich. You can also donate more to make more as well!

We believe this initiative would not only brighten someone’s day but also provide our volunteers with a meaningful opportunity to support the Dementia Australia’s mission. At the same time, it would help raise awareness of Dementia among university students.

All funds raised will support the work of Dementia Australia to provide vital support services for people living with dementia, their families and carers. These services include counselling, support groups, education and training.
