The Chan family is raising funds for Dementia Australia in memory of Guat Ong
Dearest wife of Sau Chuan Chan, beloved mother of Vivien and Melvin, mother-in-law to Daphne and Mah Mah to Joshua and Matthew. Shirley was a loving, outgoing and caring woman throughout her life.
Shirley was born on 6th September 1941 where she spent the first 60 years of her life in Malaysia, helping her local community in healthcare and married Sau Chan in 1964. Shirley and her husband moved to Sydney, Australia in 2001. She spent most of her time looking after her family and enjoying the company of her friends at Dooleys Lidcombe Catholic Club. She passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on 20th December 2023 at Sydney Adventist Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, the Chan family has requested that donations in memory of Shirley be made to Dementia Australia. Shirley cared for her husband very much and made sure he was well cared for as his dementia progressed. Donations will help in the research for treatments and a cure for dementia.
