I'm taking on The Great Australian Swim and making a difference for people living with dementia!

I'm challenging myself to dive in for dementia!

Please help me reach my goal by making a donation. It only takes a minute and any amount you can give will go a long way to fund medical and social research and support the vital services, support groups and education programs that Dementia Australia provides to people living with dementia, their families and carers.

Thank you for your support.

Swimming for Mum

Tuesday 7th Mar
I lost my Mum last year. She had suffered from Dementia for at least 10 years. In the end she did not pass away from Dementia but a suspected respiratory tract Cancer. Dementia had ruled her life and mine for 10 long years. It was a long slow deterioration of a brilliant mind, the saving grace for me was that she always thought nothing was wrong. She sailed through believing she could still take care of herself, even when she was unable to walk. Dementia is a hideous disease that robs a person of their ability to function as a human and steals all their dignity. There is such a long way to go for society to accept, embrace and understand Dementia, any donation to aid research to help patients with dementia and improve their quality of life will be gratefully appreciated. I am doing this swim for Mum and friends who have suffered with Dementia and friends who are currently navigating their own journey’s with Dementia. Mum was my biggest supporter of my swimming, so I feel this is a great way to help Dementia Australia in their quest to improve the quality of life for Dementia patients and hopefully one day find a cure for this disease. Thank you for your support.
