I'm taking on a Marathon to Remember and making a difference for people living with dementia!
I’m challenging myself to complete a Marathon to raise funds to support people with dementia.
Any exercise is more exercise than usual for me so I’m going to attempt to complete these kms over the whole month. Easy for some, a challenge for me. Inspired by my cousin to raise funds for Dementia Aus, this organisation has helped me a lot since my mums diagnosis of early onset Frontotemporal dementia back in July 2020. For me personally Dementia Aus are only a phone call away when help is needed, they provide support groups which I regularly attend, loads of education and free counselling.
Dementia is the second leading cause of death in Australia, the number one for women. We need more awareness for the different types of dementia and more funding to go towards research and support for the families dealing with this life changing disease.
Please help me reach my goal by making a donation. Any amount you can give will go a long way to fund medical and social research and support the vital services, support groups and education programs that Dementia Australia provides to myself and others living with dementia, their families and carers.
