In memory of Jack McLeod

By Courtney Handley

In lieu of flowers, we are raising funds for people with Dementia.

Jack Maxwell McLeod (10th Feb 1926 - 14th Oct 2020) was diagnosed with Dementia in his later years. He was a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He served in WWII and played for Hawthorn Football Club in 45-47, 50-51. He played 64 games and was the oldest living Hawthorn player. More information about his achievements with Hawthorn can be found here...

Jack met Nancy Semmens when he was 18 years old and were married after the war and were married for 68 years and together for 75 years. Nancy died only 12 days before Jack did. What a love story. They leave behind 2 children, 7 grand children and 16 great grandchildren.

On behalf of Jack's family, in lieu of flowers, we are raising funds towards Dementia Australia.

All funds raised will support the work of Dementia Australia to provide vital support services for people living with dementia, their families and carers. These services include counselling, support groups, education and training.

Thank you for your support.
