Challenge Comes to a Strong Close

Tuesday 23rd Dec
This December, I have raised $2,300 & swum 14kms for Dementia Australia. Thank you for your love & support! 
♡ Merry Christmas & Happy New Year ♡

Hope these funds aid dementia research. My wish is that we find a cure/new treatments to support our loved ones' health & wellbeing.

Dementia Awareness & Swim Sessions

Monday 22nd Dec
My PowerPoint on Dementia Awareness was shared on socials.

Swim Sessions:
21/12/25 - swum 1.6km (44min 40sec in outdoor pool) - the extra 100m was for colleague's partner's family members.

22/12/25 - swum 2km (66min in outdoor pool).

23/12/25 - swum 1.4km (38min in indoor pool).

1.5km Swum

Saturday 13th Dec
1.5km Swum (56min in indoor pool). Today, had a slower pace, but no breaks taken.

2.5km & more connections shared

Thursday 11th Dec
2.5km swum in 1hr (500m in indoor pool & 2000m in outdoor pool) - 1km over swim session target.
The extra 1km was swum for loved ones:
- 1st 500m was for my special person, along with a another person's loved one, as both required extra care & love this week.
- 2nd 500m was for colleagues' (B.R., B.O., J.F., C.W., & D.K.) loved ones

Saturday 6th Dec
1.5km Swum (outdoor pool closed to public for swim meet, so all kms swum in indoor pool). Felt the burn in muscles today from yesterday's big swim, so a little slower but consistent swimming with no breaks 🏊 

2kms & shared stories

Friday 5th Dec
Today, swum 2kms (1300m in indoor pool & 700m in outdoor pool) with 500m designated to colleagues' loved ones who have experienced/ experiencing dementia. Thank you S.N., J.S., N.K., J.B., & N.C. for sharing your stories ♡

The Swim Challenge Begins

Introduced fund raiser. Displayed activity logbook, which includes info on dementia, labelled diagrams of the brain, Christmas-themed mind puzzles (handouts), & studies on potential preventive measures etc.

02/12/25 
1.5km completed in 43min 30sec (1400m swum in indoor pool & 100m in outdoor pool).

Like old times, visited my loved one after a swim 🏊 

We participated in group activities (word scramble game & watched/ sang along to a guest singer 🎸).
