I'm raising funds for people with dementia!

Over the course of the next month, I have decided to run/walk 66km for Dementia Australia in honour of the 10 years since my Pappou's (Grandpa's) passing. 

My pappou was diagnosed with vascular dementia at the young age of 60 and passed away at the age of 66. For those 6 years, it was heartbreaking to see someone you love go through something so confusing and indescribable to the person experiencing it. 

Currently, there are 472 000 Aussies living with dementia. My family having been part of that number knows first-hand the struggles and challenges that come with caring for a loved one with dementia. 

Dementia Australia was very supportive of my family during those 6 years. This organisation is one that I hold close to my heart because of the work they do for not only individuals living with dementia but for the families as well. 

I hope that by doing this run/walk, I can contribute to the incredible work Dementia Australia does in supporting families and also funding research, that one day can lead to a cure.
